The app is suitable for anyone who wants to create email signatures with Apple Mail and insert them directly into their messages. With the help of the visual editor, you can easily design and edit text and image files — no programming knowledge required.
For users with HTML knowledge, the Pro version of the app (in-app purchase) also offers an HTML editor that allows them to edit or create signatures in HTML code.
No registration required — all you need is an active email account in Apple Mail.
To use the app, you must grant it certain access permissions.
The following permissions are required:
- Access to the Mailbox folder to read and save signatures
- Access to the Mail Accounts folder to read the names of email accounts
- Access to the Home folder to keep your iCloud Drive synchronized.
In the “Preview” tab, you can optionally grant the app access to your mail settings.
This will import the default fonts and font sizes from Apple Mail. This is necessary if the signature does not use its own font or font size and instead uses the default values from Apple Mail.
Yes, you can edit saved signatures at any time. Then click “Save” to apply the changes. To make them visible in the “Signatures” section of Apple Mail, you will need to restart Apple Mail.
With the Mail Signature app, you can export *.mailsignature files. Both *.mailsignature and *.html files are supported for import.
The export function is used to back up your signatures. Each signature must be exported individually and then imported separately. You can share or send the exported files in *.mailsignature format with others – but please note that they are only compatible with certain email programs. Importing signatures in *.mailsignature or *.html format allows you, for example, to restore accidentally deleted signatures or insert external signatures as templates for further editing.
Yes, the Mail Signature app is available free of charge – but only in a basic version with limited features, which is ideal for testing.
If you want to use the full range of features, you can unlock the Pro version with a one-time in-app purchase. Simply download the app and activate the Pro version directly within the application.
